REQUIREMENTS FOR 3D CAP EMBROIDERY.

3D Raised Cap Embroidery How to get the Best Results.

Best Results for 3D Cap Embroidery

3D cap embroidery a foam underneath the embroidery design to achieve an raised effect. Raised 3D cap embroidery requires the thread or stitch count to double, so that the foam will not be exposed through the thread.

3D cap embroidery has the best results with wide or large shaped letters or designs.
A good space between letters or shapes is also recommended when raised 3D embroidery is used as the foam causes the shapes to expand which in turn closes spacing ie letters will touch if spacing is not correct.

Avoid embroidering over puff as it will flatten the puff beneath it.
Graphics lines should be between 3mm and 10mm in thickness. Lines under 2mm will not work with 3D embroidery as the foam will be exposed and will results in a messy embroidery. The thinner the line, the less puff effect.
Puff 3D does not work successfully with complex detailed designs or lines under 2.5mm or over 12mm.

Column widths really matter in 3D Emrboidery. Shown below is a commin problemwhere the column width isto narrow to achieve the effect.

Having column widths between3-10mm is the ideal for a great 3D effect. You can still have tapered ends as shown below (fig 4) with a good finish.

Minimum Order Quantity

Well this is a question we get asked this question alot.

The answer is 1, BUT and this is a big ‘but’. The cost of the 1 Custom Cap is expensive as the cap takes on the entire setup cost of the specialised 3D digitising, the setup of 1 embroidery machine to run a single cap with all the tests to make sure it’s as perfect it can be and this all takes time which adds up.

We would recommend to start with a minimum of 10 to 20 units to spread the cost of the initial setup.

Cost of Raised 3D Cap Embroidery

Costing all depends on seeing your logo.
